February Gardening Tips

In February, it's important to start preparing your garden for the upcoming spring season.  So, get out those loppers and secateurs to prune dormant trees and shrubs, clearing debris, and starting seeds indoors. Make sure to also check for any signs of pests or diseases that may have appeared during the winter months.

March Gardening Tips

As the weather starts to warm up and soils become workable, it's time to start planting early spring flowers and vegetables.  You can also look at dividing and transplanting perennials and grasses Don't forget to fertilize your soil, mulch your garden beds, and continue to monitor for pests and diseases. This is also a good time to plan out your garden design for the rest of the year.

Additional Tips

Remember to water your plants adequately, especially as the weather gets warmer.   Don't be in too much of a rush to plant out those tender overwintered plants and seedlings, Canada's climate is notorious for tricking us it's safe and then surprising us with a flash frost!
